The UAE is turning pink once again as communities across the nation unite in the fight against breast cancer. The annual Pink Caravan campaign, led by the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), is back on the road, offering free medical screenings and awareness activities that could save lives.
Throughout this month, the initiative will bring its mobile and mini-clinics to neighborhoods across all seven emirates, making early detection more accessible than ever. From busy shopping malls to waterfront venues, residents will find convenient opportunities to take proactive steps toward their health — at no cost.
The Pink October campaign is not just about screening; it’s about education, empowerment, and community. The programme includes health lectures, interactive workshops, and workplace wellness activities, all designed to encourage regular check-ups and promote a culture of prevention.
Participants will be able to access free clinical breast examinations, mammograms, and ultrasound tests — crucial tools in identifying signs of cancer at an early and more treatable stage. Each visit provides not only medical assessment but also guidance on breast self-examination, helping women and men alike understand how to monitor their own health.
Eight fixed clinics are operating throughout October, welcoming visitors daily from 4pm to 10pm (except the Khorfakkan clinic, open from 10am to 4pm). Among the key stops on the Pink Caravan’s route are City Walk in Dubai, Mushrif Mall in Abu Dhabi, Mall of Al Ain in Al Ain, Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah, RAK Mall in Ras Al Khaimah, Lulu Mall in Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain Mall, and Khorfakkan.
Aisha Al Mulla, Director of FOCP, emphasized that the campaign represents more than a month-long awareness effort — it’s part of a national health movement. “Pink October reflects our goal of turning awareness into action. We aim to build a culture of health responsibility, where prevention and early detection are part of everyday life,” she said.
The initiative also collaborates with companies and organizations, offering workplace screenings, wellness days, mammogram vouchers, and both in-person and virtual educational sessions. These partnerships ensure that awareness extends into offices and industries across the country, empowering employees to prioritize their wellbeing.
Beyond the clinics, the Pink Caravan has planned a series of community-driven events blending awareness with fun and family engagement. From October 10 to 12, Aljada in Sharjah will host a lively family weekend featuring free screenings, sports, games, and creative workshops. Later in the month, the campaign will join the Battle Cancer Challenge at The Seven Stadium in Dubai on October 25, combining fitness and philanthropy to support cancer care.
Other highlights include the third edition of the Pink Tour at Dubai Expo City on October 12 and the fifth Ride with Rixos event at Abu Dhabi Corniche on October 18 — both celebrating unity and wellness under the UAE’s vibrant October sky.
By bringing together health professionals, volunteers, families, and businesses, the Pink Caravan continues to turn awareness into action — inspiring every resident to take that simple, life-saving step toward early detection.
This October, as pink ribbons spread across the UAE, the message is clear: prevention begins with participation.
